Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Foreman to oversee and coordinate daily construction activities at the Monarch Glen project in the Flagstone area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards while managing subcontractors, coordinating site activities, and maintaining compliance with project specifications and engineering requirements.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Foreman to oversee and coordinate daily construction activities at the Monarch Glen project in the Flagstone area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards while managing subcontractors, coordinating site activities, and maintaining compliance with project specifications and engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Safety
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the site.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, site-specific safety plans, and company procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Identify and address safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Set out works from survey control points and surveyor's marks.
- Verify survey information and ensure construction works are completed within design tolerances.
- Coordinate with surveyors and engineers as required.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.
- Coordinate access, sequencing, and interface between trades.
- Supervise excavation activities in accordance with approved plans and engineering requirements.
- Coordinate excavation and installation of conduits for building services (installed by others).
- Monitor and inspect reinforcing steel installation prior to concrete placement.
- Carry out engineering and quality control checks throughout construction activities.
- Coordinate and supervise concrete pours, including ordering materials and managing onsite delivery schedules.
- Ensure all concrete works are completed in accordance with project specifications.
- Set out blockwork and ensure compliance with approved drawings.
- Monitor and oversee core filling operations.
- Coordinate and supervise scaffolding installation to ensure safety and compliance.
- Set out and coordinate structural steel installation.
- Monitor roofing installation activities.
- Supervise wall and roof cladding works for the generator shed.
- Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks throughout all stages of construction.
- Identify and rectify defects or non-conformances.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
- Proven experience as a Construction Foreman within civil, commercial, or industrial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of excavation, concrete, structural steel, blockwork, and building construction practices.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and site safety requirements.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Relevant trade qualification or construction-related certification preferred.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Results-driven with a proactive approach to site management.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
